june is the time for dads and grads...this year in our family - our firstborn girl is graduating!! what a bittersweet time. we are excited for her as she meets this milestone, and yet i also know it is the beginning of an end. so, i hold back the sadness and reminisce in the happy times, and enjoy watching our girl grow up. and go on!!

getting started! always the hardest part.... time is always my enemy. i don't like to start to soon - and risk wilting... but wait to late and then rushing to get done!! getting my hands to create what is in my heart as well as create something a bride has dreamed of - talk about stress!!
this was a simple wedding. the bride loves clean, modern lines. and how can you go wrong with hydrangeas!!

hand wrapped bouquet - 16 vendela roses, small white mums, 2 white hydrangea blooms...
the bridesmaids bouquets - only babys breath!! and a few strips of bear grass... never made a bouquet from only babys breath...actually a bit harder than i imagined, getting it to look rounded but not trimmed!! they were actually very sweet!
although i've really 'retired' from my days in flower design, its fun to get back to creating... but after two days of choosing, trimming, standing...talking, drinking coffee(lots) and driving -probably over 200 miles- its back to normal! whew!!...
now i'm tired...lots of emails to catch up on, a few orders to get in the mail, and two grad dinners for beth at the end of the week!! more on that later....

what a picture...i wish i had taken it - i did not... my sister captured the fresh spring greens, papery thin petals wet with rain drops.....i think nothing inspires me more than this...
tomorrow this time i will be up to my ears in flowers! i think as i said before - in a moment of insanity!! i agreed to go back to floral design - and work for two weddings this spring. one this weekend. i am looking forward to it..this bride wants simple clean lines - nothing fussy - and some things i've never done before! - i'll post pictures next week!!
so i'll leave you with a simple new jade neclace with hydrangea silver pendant. i actually took the small hydrangea blooms and made a mold with them. then created the pendant - it is a real fav of mine!!

i woke this morning to a sweet note from liz of wickedly chic- a fashiony blog for independent designers and shoppers!! she highlighted my sparkle earrings in the daily ditties section!!
the shape of these vintage crystals is reminiscent - to me - of an art deco style. and i know i keep saying, but the charm of vintage crystals is their 'wow factor' sparkle! and just how unique they are!

first, i must apologize to my beth...she was honored with an award through big brothers of vancouver last thursday, may 7. we had looked forward to it - excited and proud mom and dad, apprehensive beth... and this week has been so crazy, i have not posted till now! i'm sorry : (
beth has been part of an in school mentoring program. she meets with her little buddy once a week, talks, plays, helps with homework, whatever. she has completed 3 full school years.
happily, she learned that she was the one to benefit! my heart would sing as she would tell of her experience on a particular day, many times with tears in her eyes... i've noticed how it has changed her...and i am proud!!
its a new to me design..there are designers creating pearls and beads in a row... but these three in a row vintage crystals are exceptional and showcasing them in a simple, stately way!

i love!! being a mom! i feel very blessed to have girls - growing up with sisters i wanted my first girl to be fortunate enough to have the same joy! and angst!! : ) lucky me!!
my sister has a sweet tribute to mom on her blog busy smarty pants - we miss her....
we three sisters spent some much needed time together yesterday...i'll post a few pictures, not alot of comment. but to us, great meaning!
we each wear a ring that our mom wore..ironic how much our hands reminds me of hers...
i brought some lily of the valley sprigs from my garden as little gifts for my sisters... to me it is sharing something alive, a sign of spring and beginnings and growing...something we are facing individually and togther in our lives right now... so as we watch them come to life next spring, spreading, and growing - we wil be reminded..
