by chance

last week while sight seeing in vancouver, we were in the gastown district to buy a few souvenirs and circling around in traffic, my husband pulled into a 'shortcut' alley and we ended up in a magical place....

 

unbelievable - and we were not alone. as we gazed. snapped pictures. peered more closely. we were joined by several locals who also happened upon this graffiti alley by chance.

it was a place of amazement. i hope we can find it again...

i love my city. it is a place of wonder. full of interesting places. people. cultures. and tucked in one of the poorest sections of the city. beautiful. priceless art. inspiring!! what a find!!

 
 
 
 

a friend!

i'm a lucky girl! my girlfriend from far away came to visit me! we got to spend 6 wonderful days together... intermingled with a little h1n1 flu - but managed to sight see, create, drink coffee, and talk. for hours. oh it does a soul good!

in all my years - i have made many friends - but this gem of a friend has been a soul mate. a friend. i am blessed. and sad. she is gone again...back to emails and phone calls!!   

 

enough already!!

ok, enough already!! we have had h1n1 flu ravage through our family these last two weeks..and it has been rugged! i keep anticipating each new day - this would be the day i feel better...so far...not yet!

it comes on softly with a sore throat, bit of congestion...seems innocuous at first - and then wham! it hits you! coughing, aches and pains, headache...stomach ache sets in even a few days later.

one especially good tip i read - gargle with salt water - and even a bit of warm salt water in each nostril...it helps combat the virus - as well as helps prevents passing it along. drinking hot fluids also helps to kill the virus, as well as soothe sore throats.

so as much as possible - stay well.

today is my daughters 18th birthday. she was born at 5:00pm - bright eyed. curious. ready to take on the world. she laid awake in the baby nursery - through the night, letting her tired mama sleep, checking out the bright lights, noises, and nurses! i woke suddenly around 4:00am, worried my baby was missing. no one had brought her to me. the nurses informed me she was happy - and they let me rest! beth was in control of things from the very start!

this day is bittersweet. this is also her first birthday to be away from home. we are proud of her. she is sweet. compassionate. sarcastic. a good friend! she is ours!!

taking pictures...

first of all - i know - i've fallen - off the bandwagon. the blogging bandwagon... i actually love blooging - following some favorites around this globe. i like sharing - tho sometimes i'm afraid its terribly uninteresting. and i think about it. i just haven't done it! no promises. but i just want you to know i am alive. i don't think i can ever catch up - its been a crazy busy summer. but i'm just going to pick up and keep going!!

i've been focusing on taking better pictures for my little etsy shop.  it is one of the most tenuous parts of the job! giving a glimpse. has to be interesting. catching the eye to grab a click! it is what seperates the good sellers and the superb.   

 

so back to the work! and hopefully we speak soon!!
